Yasmin graduated from Southwestern Law School as a Dean's Fellow and Dean's Merit Scholar. While at Southwestern Law, Yasmin served as a Lead Articles Editor of the Southwestern Journal of International Law Executive Board.
While in law school, Yasmin also clerked at the Coalition of Humane Immigrant Rights ("CHIRLA"), assisting DACA recipients with renewing their immigration applications. Yasmin also had the opportunity to learn about housing law and tenant's rights, through her experiences at Southwestern Law School's Eviction Defense clinic, and as a clerk at Bet Tzedek Legal Services in the Preventing and Ending Homelessness Project, where she assisted tenants with their eviction cases and general landlord-tenant issues. These experiences serving underrepresented communities further cultivated Yasmin's interest and passion in employment and labor law and protecting workers’ rights. As a result, Yasmin had the opportunity to clerk at two different plaintiff's employment law firms in California, where she assisted with cases related to wage and hour class actions and representative Private Attorney General Act ("PAGA") actions, retaliation, discrimination, and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
Prior to law school, Yasmin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from San Francisco State University, with a major in International Relations, and minors in Persian Studies and Middle East and Islamic Studies.
In her free time, Yasmin enjoys spending time with her family and friends, doing yoga, and traveling.
